About
We are a group of AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers working locally to provide free tax preparation and e-file services in Thurston County, Washington. We volunteer so those in our local community do not miss out on the tax refunds, credits, and deductions they’ve earned because they cannot afford a paid tax preparer.
In a typical year, our seventy volunteers help taxpayers file 2500 federal income tax returns and claim $2.6 million in refunds.
Our Mission and core values
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the largest free, volunteer-run tax asssistance and preparation program in the nation.
Its mission is to provide high-quality free income tax assistance and tax preparation services to low- and moderate-income taxpayers, with an emphasis on those age 50 or older.
Tax-Aide’s core values are to:
